Damon Meets His Kindergarten Teacher

Yesterday I took Damon to the school to meet his new teacher. He was really excited! His teacher spent a few minutes with him while I filled out paper work. He got to see his classroom and the playground that they are still building. After we met with his teacher I showed Damon around the school and where Olivia's class is. He can't wait to start school!

Olivia Rides The Bus

Today Olivia decided to ride the bus to and from school. She did great, she said it was much easier than yesterday when she had to find us. I took a picture of her getting off the bus, she was really embarrassed (if you can't tell). Damon and Jasmine spent the afternoon playing with his Power Rangers.

Look Out World Here Comes Olivia!

Olivia had her first day of school today. She did great! The school is still under construction and a little chaotic, but she made it through the day. She got lost at the end of the day and it took about 20 minutes until we found her, but she didn't panic. I on the other hand, was running around like a crazy woman. She forgot where I told her to meet us and lost sight of her teacher so she just stood by the playground until the crowd died down and we could see her. She was a little upset and exhausted from her day so I let her take a little nap when we got home. She made some new friends and really likes her teacher, maybe tomorrow she'll try riding the bus!

Day Before Olivia Starts School

We had a pretty relaxed weekend. We just ran errands and did chores around the house. Today we went to my Parent's house for Sunday dinner. We had a BBQ and set up the waterslide for the kids. We had to come home early to pack a lunch and get Olivia ready to start school tomorrow. Its going to take some getting use to, we haven't had a schedule or bedtimes all summer. Who Said Being a Housewife is Easy?

The last few weeks I've been feeling really sluggish. I've had a fever, chills, body aches, and I've even thrown up a few times. I thought I just had the flu, but after evaluating my situation; I realized I'm just really stressed out about the kids starting school. Everyone who knows me, knows that I don't deal with change well. This might be why I have been so sick lately, it's my bodies way of saying "chill out". People always say to me "your a housewife what do you have to worry about?" Like being a housewife is all rainbows and butterflies. I just worry because this is Olivia's third new school in three years not to mention my baby boy starts kindergarten. The school is just being built as we speak. We drove past it a few times and it appears not even close to being ready for Monday. The school had to cancel Back-to-School Night, which was supposed to be tonight. The kids won't even get a tour of the school before the first day. Not to mention they don't even know the bus routes, so we can't even do a few practice runs so that they are familiar with the bus ride. These are the things I worry about as a mother. The kids aren't even nervous in fact they could careless. My Mom has had Damon and Olivia for the last few days. We didn't want them to catch the flu, if that's what I have. Jasmine has been home with me since she won't spend the night at Grandma's. She's been taking care of me, bringing me blankets and the remote control. Being a mom and a housewife can be a little overwhelming at times. I never get to finish a complete thought. In fact Jasmine has interrupted me about 40 times just while I've been writing this. Thank God for my Mom who is always a big help. She knows exactly what I am going through. Thanks for always taking care of us, what would I do without you? Only 3 days after today until school starts.

Mema and Poppie Rojas

Today we had a surprise visit from my grandparents. The kids were so excited to see them. Damon showed them all of his karate moves and the girls wanted them to see what they have done to their rooms since the last visit. Mema and Poppie it was great to see you, drop by anytime.

Mommy, Will You Marry Me?

I have two favorite memories for this weekend. The first one happened on Friday afternoon when we were shopping at JcPenney. We were walking through the jewelry department when Damon noticed a table of fake diamond rings. He opened the box and said "Mommy, will you marry me?". It was so darling I almost started to cry. He is such a fun kid. He is so animated and loving. He never turns down a hug or a kiss. He's my little Love-Bug. The second favorite memory was when we were shopping this morning. Whenever my late Uncle Danny was separated from his family while shopping he used to make a "Cu-Koo, Cu-Koo" noise so his family would know where to find him. John and I have since taught our kids to make this noise if they ever get separated from us. So when I was looking through the girls clothes the rest of the family ventured throughout the store and made the "Cu-Koo, Cu-Koo" noise when they needed to find me so we could go home. I have heard this noise a lot since my Uncle died in July, but for some reason today it really made me miss him. I guess we'll have good days and bad days. We Miss You Uncle Danny!

Alec's 12th Birthday

Our oldest nephew Alec turned 12 on August 10th. We went to Kris and Long's house today to celebrate his birthday. The kids had a lot of fun. They played lots of games and enjoyed playing on the swing set. We were also able to play with our youngest nephew Tyler. He is almost 10 months old and is already trying to walk. He has lots of black hair and my personal favorite, "THUNDER THIGHS." I took a picture of our nephews- Alec, Cade, and Tyler. Tyler is wearing Paige's purple jacket because it was really cold. Kim Nguyen

I also wanted to give everyone an update on John's older sister Kim who lives in Chicago. She had a brain aneurysm last September and was in and out of the hospital for a few months. She some how made a miraculous recovery and is doing really well. She went in for an angiogram on Monday and her doctor told her "everything has healed beautifully." She won't have to have another angiogram until next year. I guess the saying is true "What doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger." God Bless you Kim, and we are so glad your feeling better!

Cleaning the House and Taking Pictures

Today is Thursday, and we spent the entire day cleaning the house. We washed walls, dusted the shutters, and of the course vacuumed and mopped. Olivia was a big help. We organized closets and cleaned out drawers. There's only 10 days before school starts and it always feels better when there isn't any clutter. Jasmine got a hold of the camera and decided to take a few hundred pictures of herself, her feet, and some of her toys. I thought I would share a few of those photos. Olivia hated the picture of me under my blogger profile so she drew a picture of me and John that I put up instead.

No Cavities

We took the kids to the dentist today for a check-up. They all did great and no-one had any cavities, HIP, HIP, HOORAY! Summer is quickly coming to an end, only 11 days until Olivia starts school.

Spending Time At The Cabin

We decided to spend the night at the cabin last night. We had a great time. I can't remember the last time I spent the night there, I know its been a few years. It was a little bit cold but very peaceful. We wanted to spend another night but I have a touch of the flu so I thought we better come home. The kids have wanted to spend the night there all summer, so at least we got to spend one night before summer ends. Jasmine had fun swinging on the tire swing and Olivia took this picture of a Humming Bird.

Crazy Weekend

This weekend has already been crazy busy! Yesterday we spent the afternoon running errands, but stopped to let the kids play at the playground before Karate Class. This morning we took the kids to an autograph signing for “Rocky” The Red Power Ranger. The kids were thrilled to meet him and even got to practice Karate for almost an hour with him. We then went to The Gateway Mall for some back-to-school shopping and some water fun. Damon and Olivia loved playing in the water; Jasmine didn’t think it was fun at all. We stayed home Saturday night so that we could watch the fireworks from our backyard. The County Fair wasn’t to far from our house so we had a perfect view. I couldn't get a good picture of the fireworks for the life of me, but trust be they were really pretty.

Michael and Danielle

I just received a picture of Mike and Danielle. They just got engaged over the weekend and are hoping to get married sometime next summer. Yes that's right my older bro is getting married, I never thought I would see the day. But he made a great choice, Danielle is a great girl and we all love her!

Karate Summer Clinic

Olivia and Damon have been taking a Karate Class all week, and I think we finally found something they both love. Damon already thinks he's a "Kung Fu Master". Olivia is sad that today is the last class, now she has to wait until September for the new classes to start. In the mean time she is still Cheerleading for the Bingham Miners, GO MINERS!

Our Nine Year Anniversary

Today is our 9 year anniversary! Last year we celebrated by moving into our dream home, this year we celebrated by going to dinner just the two of us to The Cheesecake Factory. We have been to The Cheesecake Factory in Chicago a few years ago when we visited John’s Sister Kim. We liked it so much we thought we would give the Utah location a try. I also received a beautiful bouquet of flowers at my doorstep this morning from John. We’ve been together for twelve years and he still knows how to make my heart melt. What girl doesn’t love getting flowers?

John- Can you believe it’s been nine years since we said “I DO?” I guess time does fly when you’re having fun. I just wanted to let you know I appreciate all that you do. I would marry you again in a heart beat. I’m really looking forward to many more years ahead with you. Happy Anniversary Baby!

30th Birthday-Just The Girls

So I just celebrated "THE BIG 30" yesterday. My Family took us to The Mayan Restaurant. We had a blast, the kids really liked the Cliff Divers. Damon wasn't to sure about their version of "Mac-n-Cheese" so we had to bribe him with a toy. John had to keep up with his end of the bargain and had to leave immediately to the store to get an "Iron Man Transformer". The Girls and I stayed a bit longer to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Wilde.
