Happy Birthday Jasmine

My little FIRECRACKER is turning six today!  She is the funniest kid and is a very old soul.  I just can't get enough of her little voice and her contagious smile.

Of course I had to do a photoshoot for her!

Pumpkin Patch

We have been super sick at our house.  We have had strep throat, the flu and I thought I had mono, again.  I went to the doctor and had my blood drawn and got the results today.  They said I had mono in my system but that it was no longer active.  Okay, whatever that means!?!  All I know is that I was so sick, my hair hurt.  Literally my hair hurt.  I had the worst body aches and nausea that I have had in a long time.  Well since the last time I had mono. There were a few times I felt so weak, I thought I was going to pass out.  Apparently I am a carrier of mono and can get it more than once.  I think this is about my fourth time having it.  I have gotten it every time my kids start kindergarten and got it last summer too.  I pray that I never get it again.  Dealing with household chores, field trips and carpools I almost had a nervous breakdown.  Luckily, I have a great hubby and he filled in where I was needed.  ♥

We are feeling better, for the most part, and decided to go to the Pumpkin Patch.  We have a great pumpkin patch by our house!

Corn Maze

After going to the pumpkin patch the kids wanted to go home to put the Halloween decorations up and to put funny faces on their pumpkins.

Damon and Jassy decorated the pumpkins.

The one with the eyebrows is Daddy, "since he always grounds them."  Jassy is the witch.  Olivia is the one with all the teeth and I'm the one on the stand holding the spiders.

Damon made his pumpkin to look like him.  He used a plastic eyebrow to make spiky hair.  I'm not sure why he choose a pig nose, but I think it is really cute!

Farnsworth Farms

Jassy had her first field trip today.  We went to Farnsworth Farms.  They got to see how the farmers grow their vegetables.

 They went on a hayride around the farm.  They also got to go in the Mill to see how apple cider is made.

 This field trip was pure hell for me.  Jassy had lots of tantrums and there were lots of tears and yelling. Most of the tears and yelling were from me, LOL.   I had been sick with the flu and apparently she forgot to mention that she wasn't feeling well either.  We should have really stayed home.  Look at this sad face.

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday Jassy started kindergarten.

She rode the bus home with her older siblings where she knew me & Daddy and Grandma & Grandpa would be waiting!

She did so amazing! We are so proud of her.

Meeting Jassy's Teacher

Today I took Jassy to meet her kindergarten teacher and for her testing. Her teacher is Damon's old teacher and is actually on Maternity Leave so she didn't get to meet her but got to see her classroom and her new seat. I had to wait in the hall but had a pretty good view of her getting tested by the other kindergarten teacher. She looked so small to me. I can't believe she is going into kindergarten. It actually made me really sad as I watched her. I have been dreading this day for a long time now. She is my shadow, she goes everywhere with me. What will I do with myself while she is gone for three hours a day? I guess every mom goes through this at some point...

She doesn't start school until next week, so I am preparing myself. I know she will love it!

Why is it that I can ask my kids questions or to do chores, they pretend they can't hear me? But the Ice Cream Truck comes and they hear that from three miles away....

Kindergarten Check-Up

A couple of days ago Jasmine had to go to the doctor for her Kindergarten Check-Up. I'm not sure way she hates going to the doctor but for the last few visits she has screamed at the top of her lungs. I tried to make this visit fun and told her that she is officially a "Big Girl" now. I prepped her as much as I could but it didn't help. The visit was an hour and a half of pure HELL! She was fine if they just talked to her but if they had to touch her she held on to me for dear life and screamed bloody murder. I have claw marks down my chest and neck. Grandma and Damon knew she would react this way and opted to wait for us in the waiting room. Olivia went with us to see if she could help. I know the blood pressure cup pinched her a few visits ago but I can't imagine way she would hate going to the doctor so bad all of the sudden. Needless to say John is taking her to the dentist!!!

After the doctors we went to the mall for cheese dogs. I told the kids they could "Build A Bear" since they were so good at the doctors and to celebrate Jassy going to Kindergarten.

I love that the kids still like to go to BABW. Jasmine loves stuff animals and has about a dozen that she carries with her everywhere.

Picnic In The Mountains

This last Sunday we had plans to go to Lagoon for Catholic Day but since the weather was up and down we decided to go on a picnic instead. We headed up Cottonwood Canyon and found a nice little spot by the water. I love the mountains after it rains! Everything was so green and the smell of the rain is to die for...


It's not easy pulling Damon away from his video games, but he seemed to have a good time.

Everyone had fun throwing rocks and sticks in the stream.

Grandma and Grandpa got a flat tire on the way home. Since we were on our way down the canyon the truck kept rolling down the hill when we were trying to put the spare tire on even with the brakes set. It was a little scary but we got it fixed, no-one got hurt, and we still managed to have a great time!
