Over My Head

Damon is still recovering from strep throat but went back to school yesterday. He's feeling a lot better now that he has been on antibiotics for a few days. Not much is new with the girls. Olivia still loves school. She got to perform with her class the school's new song in sign language, in front of the whole student body. She is really excited about her teacher, who wrote the song. Because it is a new school they got to vote on the mascot, school colors, and the name of the mascot; which has been a lot of fun. A few weeks ago I mentioned that we went to back-to-school night; well I got a little over zealous and signed up to volunteer. The schedule is now out and I'm scheduled almost everyday to be at the school, yikes! I think I got a little over my head, but I wasn't able to volunteer much last year since I had Damon in preschool and Jasmine at home. I guess we'll try it and see how it goes, wish me luck!

Breakfast at Jassy's

John brought up Olivia's old play kitchen from the basement for Jassy to play with. It's now in her room, and today she invited me up for breakfast. She has been playing with it non-stop for the last couple of days. She wants us all to play in her room with her and the kitchen. She's even tricked Damon into playing with her and he is still sick. Damon has missed the last three days of school since he has a sore throat and a fever. He pretty much just lays around watching cartoons, which is fine by me until he feels better. Olivia had a visit from the tooth fairy last night. She was really excited and even took her dollar bill to school to show the class.

Going, Going, Gone!

Olivia finally lost her fifth front tooth. It has been loose and hurting her for over a week now. It was ready to fall out when she lost her other front tooth a few days ago, but it got really sore and she was scared to pull it. It's funny how she started Second Grade and now all her teeth are falling out. Not to mention her School Pictures are next week and Our Family Pictures are in a couple of weeks. Can you say AWKWARD PHASE?

Damon was sick yesterday with a pretty high fever. Let's hope he feels better today.

Just The Usual

Not to much happened this weekend just the usual, running errands and cleaning. Olivia lost one of her front teeth. Damon got a haircut, and Jasmine spent most of the weekend bossing us around. You know, the usual!

Bring On The Weekend!

Well once again the week is over, bring on the weekend! I’m still recovering from “mono” and because of that I have a weakened immune system and have caught every little bug that goes around. This week has been really rough, I have a terrible cold. Not to mention John has been working around the clock. He has been working at the office and no longer from home. So it’s been hard to be alone with the kids and sick. But Olivia did make it to Religion Class, WHOO HOO! They built a new church less than a mile from our house. It’s actually a school but they will be having Mass there as well. The church/school is beautiful. It’s so nice to have a church close by.

Back-To-School Night

The school finally had their Back-To-School Night. Damon and Olivia were so excited to show us their classrooms and the work they've done so far. We got to meet with their teachers, and both said the kids are adjusting really well.

Earlier this week Olivia got to sign her name in the “Pride Book” at school. Her teacher recognized her for making excellent choices and setting a good example. Not all students get to be in this book, so we are very proud of her for this accomplishment.

Damon is getting better at doing homework. He even seems to enjoy it!

Jasmine loves her time away from her Brother and Sister. She loves our alone time and loves running errands with me.

A Day At The Zoo

Today we went to Hogle Zoo. The weather has been getting colder and colder each weekend, so we thought we better get a visit to the Zoo before it gets to cold. Today it was perfect, a comfortable 80 degrees. We even talked Grandma & Grandpa Wilde and Mike & Danielle into coming along with us. Here are some pictures of our little family enjoying our day at the Zoo.

The Bird Show

The Zoo puts on a Bird Show, which was really entertaining. The kids wanted to stay after the show to get their picture taken with the Bald Eagle and the Barn Owl. Both are enormous birds. Notice how scared Damon is and how he doesn't want to take his eyes off of them in case he needs to run.

We saw the Zoo’s main attraction which is the White Alligator. Here’s Jassy’s impression of a monkey.

Olivia and Jasmine just happened to be wearing the same shirt today. Olivia wanted me to take a picture because she thought it was sooo cute! Notice Damon sneaking in the background to ruin their "girls only" picture. Pesky Brother!

T.G.I.F.

Thank God It's Friday! This week has been super busy and I'm so glad it's over with. Damon and Olivia are riding the bus on their own now. Damon is finally getting the hang of Kindergarten, but has a ton of homework each night. Olivia won't be getting homework for another few weeks, I don't now how she lucked out. This week was so busy, Olivia missed the first Religion Class and I didn't feel Damon was ready to start Karate yet. Olivia can hardly wait to go back to Karate, she loves it! She decided not to do cheerleading this year since it meant that she wouldn't be able to sleep in on Saturdays and would have to be at games all day. Not to mention a lot of her friends weren't doing this year either. Hopefully things will run a lot smoother next week and we'll be able to make at least Religion Class.

A Pocket Full of Kisses

I want to share a cute moment I had with Damon last night. He loves when we read to him and last night he picked the book "A Pocket Full of Kisses" by Audrey Penn. It's the follow up book to "The Kissing Hand". Both books are about being a little scared when you first start school and missing your Mom terribly in times of separation. The Mom Raccoon reassures her son Chester by kissing him on the palm of his hand and tells him when he misses her to put the kiss on his cheek and he'll know how much she loves him and that she is always with him. I thought this was a great book to read since Damon has started Kindergarten and I can't always be with him. When we were reading the book we got to the part where the little brother gets the same "kissing hand" and Chester is crushed that his Mom gave away his special kiss. Chester the Raccoon starts to cry and yells at his Mom. After reading this part to Damon I looked over and saw that he was starting to cry as well. When I asked him why he was crying he said he felt sorry for Chester because the Mom gave away his "kissing hand." In the next part the Mom Raccoon explains that she has enough kisses for the both of them and that she'll never run out of kisses. Damon was happy again and gave me a big hug. I can't even explain how much I miss him during the day, I think starting Kindergarten has been harder on me then him. I wish I could be with him to help him through his day, but for now we'll have our own "Pocket Full of Kisses."

Weekend Review

We are still adjusting to having two students at school. Damon survived his first week of Kindergarten. Olivia is a "Pro" at being a Second Grader, and Jasmine is still trying to figure out what to do with herself while her siblings are at school.

This weekend just flew by, before we knew it was over. I took all the kids to get their haircut on Friday after school. It was my Sister Yvette's 40th Birthday so we went to the Olive Garden for dinner. Happy 4oth Birthday Yvette! Olivia had a sleep over at Grandma's. John took all the kids to the church Folk Fest on Saturday, while I went with the girls from my Family to the Bridal Show at the Expo Center. It was fun, Danielle got a lot of great ideas. Later that day John and I went to the Mall to get outfit ideas for our Family Pictures in a few weeks. The search continued on to Sunday when Olivia and I spent most of the day shopping. I think we have most of it done, now we just need shoes and accessories. It's a lot of planning to do Family Pictures, but I love it! I managed to get a little nap in and then it was off to Grandma's for Sunday Dinner. We got home just in time to get ready for bed and to plan the week ahead of us. Olivia starts Religion Classes today and we are hoping to start Karate on Tuesday. We'll see how Damon feels, I want him to get used to school before we add anything else to his schedule. There are no pictures today since John had his hands to full to take pictures at the Folk Fest. Thanks for taking them Babe, I know its not easy having all three of them at a place like that.

First Day of Kindergarten

Damon started school today. He did awesome! He went with his teacher without any problems and rode the bus home with Olivia. He felt like such a "Big Boy." It was hard to have my little guy go to school, but I held it together and made it through the day without a single tear. Its going to be a challenge teaching him how to ride the bus, so for now we'll continue to put him on the bus and then meet him at the school. The school is still such a mess its hard to tell Olivia where to meet him. There's a picture of Damon lining up with his class, and us celebrating the 1st day of school at "The Training Table."

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day! Wasn't it nice to get an extra day off? Olivia just started school and we're already begging for time off. This weekend we just stayed at home and relaxed. I'm still recovering from "mono," Damon had a touch of the flu, and not to mention Olivia was exhausted from her busy week. John and I did manage to get a movie in, we saw "House Bunny" which was pretty good. Anna Faris is my favorite actress so I had to go see it. We also spent time with John's Family, which is always nice. Olivia lost her third tooth this weekend, so we took a picture to show her funky mouth.
