Happy Birthday Daddy!

John turned 34 years old yesterday, so we celebrated by going to dinner at Iggy's with my family and then back to our house for dessert.  John picked pumpkin pie (his favorite).  He also made me go see Jackass in 3D the day before.  We had a lot of fun!

Pumpkin Patch

We have been super sick at our house.  We have had strep throat, the flu and I thought I had mono, again.  I went to the doctor and had my blood drawn and got the results today.  They said I had mono in my system but that it was no longer active.  Okay, whatever that means!?!  All I know is that I was so sick, my hair hurt.  Literally my hair hurt.  I had the worst body aches and nausea that I have had in a long time.  Well since the last time I had mono. There were a few times I felt so weak, I thought I was going to pass out.  Apparently I am a carrier of mono and can get it more than once.  I think this is about my fourth time having it.  I have gotten it every time my kids start kindergarten and got it last summer too.  I pray that I never get it again.  Dealing with household chores, field trips and carpools I almost had a nervous breakdown.  Luckily, I have a great hubby and he filled in where I was needed.  ♥

We are feeling better, for the most part, and decided to go to the Pumpkin Patch.  We have a great pumpkin patch by our house!

Corn Maze

After going to the pumpkin patch the kids wanted to go home to put the Halloween decorations up and to put funny faces on their pumpkins.

Damon and Jassy decorated the pumpkins.

The one with the eyebrows is Daddy, "since he always grounds them."  Jassy is the witch.  Olivia is the one with all the teeth and I'm the one on the stand holding the spiders.

Damon made his pumpkin to look like him.  He used a plastic eyebrow to make spiky hair.  I'm not sure why he choose a pig nose, but I think it is really cute!

Olivia In The Spotlight

Olivia was the SPOTLIGHT STUDENT this week.  We got to go to her class so that she could share a few of her favorite things.  Here she is showing the class her rock collection.

On of her favorite things is her puppy.  So of course we had to bring her and let her show-off a bit!

She also did a few of her other tricks: walked like a human, laid down, stayed, and said "mama."  Here she is meeting the class.

What Do Kindergarteners Do When They Are Sick?

They find ways to entertain themselves...

Jassy had got every single one of the dogs toys out.  She put them in a row and made Chloe play with her.

I love watching these two together.

Farnsworth Farms

Jassy had her first field trip today.  We went to Farnsworth Farms.  They got to see how the farmers grow their vegetables.

 They went on a hayride around the farm.  They also got to go in the Mill to see how apple cider is made.

 This field trip was pure hell for me.  Jassy had lots of tantrums and there were lots of tears and yelling. Most of the tears and yelling were from me, LOL.   I had been sick with the flu and apparently she forgot to mention that she wasn't feeling well either.  We should have really stayed home.  Look at this sad face.

Witch Scavenger Hunt

We took the kids to Gardner Village so that we could do the Witch Scavenger Hunt.

It was about 85 degrees with lots of sunshine but it was really crowded.  It was fun going around the village searching for all the cute witch decorations.

We do this every year and it's always a blast.  We weren't able to take a ride with a witch this year, but the kids didn't want to.  All they cared about was finding all the witches so that they could get their cookies!
