Gorgoza Park

A few days ago we took the kids tubing at Gorgoza Park near Park City.

It was only 27 degrees, but with all our snow gear we were nice and warm. The sun was shinning and it was absolutely gorgeous!

The best part, was that we didn't have to walk up the hill. You just tie your tube to the lift and it takes you to the top of the mountain. Jassy pretty much just stayed in her tube and we pulled her around all day. She's such a DIVA!

Liv has not smiled for a picture since she started going to the Orthodontist.

Such a fun day. It was a little challenging riding with my big camera around my neck, but I have been dying to get some snow pictures! Next time I'll just bring my point-and-shoot camera. After tubing and playing we took the kids to Park City for dinner. When we got home we were exhausted. BEST DAY EVER!!!

DayDay Update

We have been off track for the last week, which is a really good thing since Damon has still been sick. We spent most of week at the InstaCare trying to figure out what was going on with his pesky ear infection. The doctor finally did a culture of his ear and a few days later we found out that it is a staph infection. We have no idea how he got a staph infection in his ear, it is very much a mystery. All I know is that he has had an ear infection on and off since July. We have tried every antibiotic and ear drops available and nothing works. We finally had to take him for a series of painful shots of a really strong antibiotic for three days in a row. He was so brave! He knew he had to get shots and went in and took them like a champ. The nurses were so amazed by his attitude and willingness to cooperate. The shots are really painful and have to be laced with a painkiller to make them tolerable, and are known to make even grown men cry. Yet he went in without hesitation and rolled up his pants and got the shots and only cried for a few seconds, TOTAL.

The shots seemed to help, so far! We are continuing to give ear drops twice a day for the next week or so. The doctors are now concerned about how many times his ear drum has ruptured over the last few months and they want to make sure that there isn't any hearing loss. They also want to make sure that the infection is gone. If not, he will need tubes or his tonsils removed. I take him to a specialist on Wednesday. (Please pray for my little guy, he has been through so much and I just want him to feel better). We are still thinking that he got this infection from swimming at The Daybreak Beach, which had to be closed due to the staph bacteria growing in the man-made waters. Not to mention, people were getting worms in their digestive track. We just think it is ironic that we played in the water once, and then had an infection a few days later.

Now that Day is feeling a little bit better, he is back to playing his video games. This boy is obsessed! He thinks he lives in a video game. He says the funniest things: Instead of saying "can you hand me a pillow" he says "can you activate me a pillow." If he's still hungry he will show you with his hands his energy level and say "I don't have all my bars yet." He can't just put his shoes on, he has to "morph" into them. Right now, his favorite games and toys are anything Ben 10. He loves to play with his "omnitrix" and now has Jassy obsessed with Ben 10 too. They play for hours together, until he can't handle being bossed around and yelled at by Jassy anymore. He usually just walks away from her when she is being a brat, but he is really, really, really patient with her and does his best to make her happy. When they are playing together, you can hear her laughing all through the house. He is such a gentle spirit! I ♥ him.

I feel so bad that I haven't had a new post in weeks, sorry! We have all been so sick at our house. The kids have all missed the better part of the last three weeks of school. We have had every kind of flu, colds, earaches, and now Jasmine has croup!!! Not to mention that Olivia is in the process of getting braces. She just got done with spacers and now has a bottom retainer and a top expander. She was in a lot of pain and was panicking about having such a huge piece of metal at the roof of her mouth. She really felt like she was choking all the time. It's been about four days and she is doing a lot better.

She had such a rough couple of weeks, I really wanted to make sure to spend alone time with her and give her some extra attention. So this afternoon John and I took her Downtown for a walk and lunch. It was fun exploring Downtown and she was so great to let me take a few hundred pictures of her. Don't let her fool you, she ♥ 's the attention.

Party At My House!!!

John and I decided it would be fun to have New Year's Eve at our house. We invited all my family and a few friends. We had a great turn out. There was lots of laughing, drinking, and dancing. Not to mention we were also celebrating my Aunt Machee turning the big 50.



A few decided to play Apples to Apples.



Machee opening her presents. She got a Wii. Of course me and my mom gave her a gag gift with funny "old people" supplies like denture cleaner and asprin, etc..



My cousin Krista made this awesome cake, it was to die for.



I was really sick Wednesday afternoon with what I think was food poisoning. Thursday I felt good enough to have the party but I didn't feel well enough to dance and get crazy like everyone else. I managed to get some of the dancing and craziness on tape. This one is the only one I could share online. It's my crazy husband, can you say blackmail? Yes that is me laughing my head off in the background.

The party ended about 4 AM and we didn't get to bed until about 5AM. I hope my neighbors still like us after this.

I must be getting old because I was totally hung-over Friday, and I don't even drink. I guess what I thought was food poisoning was actually the flu. I was so so sick that John had to rush me to the emergency room with a migraine and severe dehydration. I was so weak I could barely stand up on my own. I spent New Year's Day in the Hospital hooked up to I.V.'s. Not a great start to the New Year. It took me a few days to recover but I'm doing much better now. Sorry Machee for missing your BDay Brunch and Dinner I really wanted to be there. :(
