Our Fun Day, Turned Out Not So Fun

Today I let the kids miss school so we could have a little Christmas fun. I planned out our day last night, but it didn't go exactly as planned. When I woke up John had told me some frustrating news about our Christmas Eve plans so of coarse that put me in a bad mood, but it was off to the mall. We had to wait to see Santa Claus for over an hour, but the kids were patient and didn't mind the wait.

They had made out their lists the night before and were really excited to personally give them to Santa.

Olivia asked for a puppy, which I am all for but John said "NO WAY." Then it was off to the food court for some lunch. Check out Damon he was so excited to have a cheese dog he was eating with both hands.

The mall was crowded and the kids decided it would be fun to run and hide from me, so we didn't get to finish shopping. When we got back to the car, I realized that we had left the van door wide open. When we got to the car it was filled with snow since it was snowing really bad while we were in the mall. The inside of the car was covered in snow and almost freezing. Luckily I didn't leave my purse in the car like I had originally planned. I had a few other stores to go to but I figured we should call it a day since the car was soaked. When we got home I thought it would be fun to have the kids help me wrap a few presents. I decided to wrap the biggest present first. After wrapping it Damon leaned on it with his elbow and put a giant hole in it. Yeah, just my luck!

We had plans to go on a ride to see Christmas lights but with it snowing all day I didn't want to take the kids out and risk a drive on black ice. So our fun day turned out not so fun. I did manage to get all the presents wrapped with only a few holes and tears.

  1. OH NO! I am sorry your day was a bust. Sounds like my life, I always spend so much time trying to make things perfect, and they rarely turn out that way. We almost left our van door open at Sea World. Luckily someone spotted it!

Wait a minute, did you say van? TINA DRIVES A VAN? I never thought I would see the day!

  3. That sucks about the van getting snowed in. Kind of funny really and luckily it wasn't worse. It still sounded like fun. At least it will be a memory you will always remember.
