20 Years of Boyz II Men and Playing Black Jack

John and I took a trip out to Wendover for an overnight stay and to go to the Boyz II Men concert. Boyz II Men have been together for 20 years and John and I have been fans since day one. John and I have been together for 14 of those 20 years, so we feel like we've grown up listening to Boyz II Men together. The concert was amazing! I have never had so much fun at a concert before. They sang all their old songs and even some new songs that will be released on their new album sometime in September. And, can I just say "there is nothing like a performer that shows up in a suit." Now days performers show up to their concerts in T-shirts and hole-y jeans and just stand still on the stage. They could definitely take a page out of Boys II Men's book and show up to a concert well dressed, ready to dance, and ready to move the audience. PAUSE MUSIC

After the concert we met up with John's parents for a little fun at the Casino. I usually play the slot machines but this time decided to venture to the Black Jack tables. This game is a little intimidating at first. It's so hard to count with everyone at the table looking at you and waiting to see if your move is going to make them lose the game. The dealers move at the speed of light. They also have lots of rules to abide by while sitting at their tables. Like, using only one hand. I literally had to sit on my left hand to keep from using it. There is no swearing, which is really hard when the dealer keeps taking away your hard earned money in a matter of seconds. At home, I swear in Spanish so that the kids don't know what I am saying. But in Wendover Nevada most people speak Spanish anyways, so it was really hard to keep my composure at the table. There's no texting and no hi-fives just to name a few more rules. Once you get a hang of it, the game is really fun. We ended up playing until 4 AM and then the entire afternoon on Saturday.
We are back home now and the kids really enjoyed their stay with Grandma and Grandpa. I don't think the kids even noticed we were gone. It was fun to spend time with John's parents and it was great to get away for a little while.

  2. Maybe I need to learn the cuss words in spanish that way my kids won't say I owe them a dollar every time they hear me! Sounds like you had fun.
