Jasmine Mercedes

My Mom and I met with a Psychic for the first time. The Psychic was an older lady, who was very wise. She told me that I was going to have a girl! She then tells me that there was going to be complications towards the end of my pregnancy and that the delivery was going to be a whirlwind, but not to worry. My doctor would be there and the baby and I would be healthy. She pauses, she's says "there's an old woman in a rocking chair in heaven, she's looking after your baby. She can't wait for you to meet her," this of course was my Granny Mercedes who had passed a few years prior. The Psychic pauses again, then laughs....she tells me "this baby is going to be a FIRECRACKER!" She laughs some more... if you think you have your hands full now with the first two, wait until you meet this one. She laughs even more......

1 AM, I waited impatiently for my parents to arrive. I don't remember being in this much pain last time. "They're here" shouted John! There was no time for conversation, I ran to get in the car. I told John to drive faster. It took three minutes to get to the hospital, not fast enough. John searched for a parking spot. I just jumped out! I ran in between contractions. The contractions were getting almost to much to bare. John had to sprint to catch up. He pushed the elevator button. Slowest elevator in the world. I debated taking the stairs. Finally, the elevator was there, was I going to make it? We rushed to the nurse's station. The nurse asked me my name, I couldn't answer, I just let out a groan in pain. John had to answer all of her questions. She looked at me and said "is this your first baby?" I shouted "no, it's my third and I've never been in so much pain!!!" She jumped to her feet and rushed us to a room. She told me to go to the bathroom and to put on a gown. Is she serious? I some how made it through her demands and made it to the hospital bed. "I think I need to push." She looks me over, "your crowning?" "I know, I've been trying to tell you." She yells for help. The staff from the emergency room fill my hospital room. Who are these people? Why is there so many of them? I need to push? The nurse shouts, "don't push we're not ready! Your doctor isn't going to make it! No time for an epidural! Stay calm." I started to pray, this was too much for me to handle. I thought I was going to black-out. The beeps from the machines started to blare everything went black....the nurse put an oxygen mask on my face. Things came back into focus. John tried to set up the camcorder, no time! The door flew open, it was my doctor. He was in his PJ's and still wearing his teeth whitening trays. He shouted "PUSH!" I can't believe he made it.... I knew he would be there. Waaahhhh!
