The Beginning of the School Year

School started this week for my kids. Olivia had her first day yesterday. She did great! She likes her teacher and has a few friends in her class. She is really starting to know her way around the school. She is pictured above with her BFF-Aubree. She was really excited to show up for school with new clothes and a new hair-do. She picked out all her clothes this year and coordinated this outfit by herself all the way down to the toenails. We call this the "Selena Gomez."

Day got to meet his teacher and a few other students. His teacher gave him a tour and answered a few questions. He is really excited to have his own desk this year instead of sharing a table. The best part for him is that he gets to play on the "Big Playground." He was really cute with his teacher yesterday and she seems really nice; but the whole time we were there he kept whispering to me "this is all great Mom, but I'm not coming back tomorrow."

Today I took the kids to school. Olivia acted like she didn't know us and ran off with her friends. Damon struggled with having to be woken up and didn't want to eat breakfast. He was laughing in the car and seemed to be ready for the school day. He was excited about his new lunchbox and his own small package of tissues for his desk. I gave him a "Pocket Angel" to carry with him to remind him, his Angels are watching over him keeping him safe. He was comforted by this and so was I. Here he is checking to make sure it's still in his pocket.

The teacher came and got the class to begin their day. As he walked away he threw me a peace sign. All the other parents laughed and it made me realize I was more nervous then he was.
